Inclusive Museums Conference
The Inclusive Museum Conference is hosted by the Inclusive Museum Research Network. The research network was founded in 2008 and serves the museum community in three ways, through an annual conference, a book and journal publication, and through ongoing participation. Each year the conference reflects on three themes, Visitors “On the relation of the museum to its communities of users.”; Collections “On the practices and processes of collecting and curating.”; and Representation “On museums as repositories and communicators of culture and knowledge.” Each of these themes reflects the changing museum landscape and the various elements shaping inclusive museums. In addition to the conference, members are invited to submit their work for peer review and publication and engage in ongoing, year-round participation with the research network by submitting scholarly work or by serving on boards and committees.
